Questioning Mark Making to Capture Movement

I have decided that I want to spend today looking at the Energy exercise in part 4 and focusing on capturing movement through different marks.

Which marks are effective to capture energy?

Other than sweeping motions of various media to capture movement what other marks work?

Apart from the position of the figure (foreshortening) and indicating the movement of clothes- what else is effective to capture movement?

Further thoughts/ or to research at a later date: How do I capture tone without obvious shading?

Firstly I am going to just try to be expressive and loose with the marks to capture multiple images and see what that creates.
